Primary 5 Assembly

February 27, 2017 by User deactivated | 4 Comments

Primary 5 performed their class Assembly today in front of pupils and parents. The Assembly had themes from their previous topics on The Victorians and also Fair Trade. The children’s enthusiasm and excitement were evident throughout the performance making it very enjoyable as well as informative for the audience. Well done P5!

Fractions in P7

Some Primary 7 children had fun this morning learning about equivalent fractions.  They enjoyed playing a game of ‘Pairs’ and had a good time helping each other.

A few Reminders

On Thursday 23rd February there will be a THS Cluster Mass at St Teresa’s Newarthill at 7 pm. I hope many families will be able to join us.

Next Monday afternoon at 2.15 will be P5’s Victorian Assembly. The pupils are very busy rehearsing and are looking forward to welcoming their families. We are all very excited.

On Tuesday Primary 4 will go to Holy Family Parish Centre for their First Holy Communion Retreat. This is a lovely opportunity for the whole class and there will be lots of activities for the pupils to do and a tuck shop too! Pupils should bring their gym shoes for this outing. The cost of the outing is £5.00. Please send in any monies for this as soon as possible.

On Wednesday 1st March the whole school will be going to Mass at St John Bosco at 11 a.m. as it is Ash Wednesday. Primary 7 will lead our mass.

Very Important

On Monday 6th March our HMIe team will arrive at school. Please complete any online surveys by Friday 24th February.

Can I please remind you that school uniform should be worn everyday and P.E. kits including gym shoes or trainers should be worn for all gym lessons. Pupils participating in gymnastic activities should only be wearing gym shoes or trainers.

Please take a few minutes and refer to the uniform guidance on the blog.

For Health and Safety reasons, can I also remind you that jewellery including earings should not be worn on gym days. Any earings which cannot be removed should be covered with a plaster before coming to school.

Thank you for your continued support. Mrs McIntyre

Primary 4 try out the trim trail

Today at Assembly we discovered that Primary 4 were the lucky class who won the Golden Ticket Challenge this week and were the first to try out the new trim trail. The pupils said it was brilliant and they can’t wait to get another try next week.

New Playground is Complete

Today our new playground got the finishing touches and I’m sure you will agree that it looks fantastic. Some lucky pupils from St Patrick’s will be able to have the first try out on Friday. Next week the trim trail will be open and St Patrick’s and NSP staff are working together to make final arrangements for the organisation of this for break times. We also plan to  have a formal opening ceremony. More information to follow soon.

What do you think of the new playground?

Leave us some comments please.

New Playground Takes Shape

I popped along to school this morning to see how the workmen were getting on installing our new playground equipment. Take a look for yourself. I was told  the trim trail and standing high jump will be finished today and the wet pour will be put down tomorrow. The playground markings will be drawn in on Wednesday.

Does anybody know any local celebrity who could officially open our new playground?

Please get in touch if you have any ideas.

Road Safety Talk

On Thursday Primary 1-3 received a visit and talk from Barbara from the Road Safety Travel Team. The pupils had been learning about crossing the road safely and ‘Be Safe, Be Seen’ in their health and wellbeing this term and Barbara was very impressed with their knowledge. Some pupils took part in activities to practise safe crossing and all pupils in P1-4 were given a reflective key ring to help them to stay safe when walking in the dark.

Disco Fever

We had a fantastic time at the Kilbowie disco.  We danced all night and went to bed with sore feet.  It was a lovely end to our week.
