Primary 5 had a great day working in teams to solve natural disaster challenges.

Primary 5 have had a busy afternoon using a range of art media to make volcano pictures.

Primary 5 have begun their Lego topic Learn to Learn.  We have been very busy trying to get our Lego license.  In  his topic we will be carrying out lots of problem solving tasks, working with others and finding out what it is like to work as a team.

Primary 5 have been carrying out research about volcanoes and the natural disaster that happened in Pompeii.  Today we used all our notes to write a newspaper report from the day after the two deadly explosions.

Primary 5 enjoyed their Friday afternoon last week when we had a visit from our Speech and Language Therapists who were leading a workshop on Lego Therapy.  The children enjoyed working in groups of three and taking on the different roles of engineer, supplier and builder in rotation to solve the design brief and build their Lego models.

Primary 5 had an amazing day yesterday on their visit to Stirling Castle.  We met some interesting characters and learned lots of new things about the Scottish Wars of Independence.

Primary 5 are continuing to work well together in their cooperative learning groups.  This morning they have been reading a non fiction text about The Scottish Wars of Independence.  They carried out different reading tasks which they then shared with the whole class.

After playtime we have been rotating round money tasks to consolidate our learning before we have an assessment on Friday and move on in the maths pathway to learn about measure next week.

Primary 5 have been working in cooperative groups today to solve a science investigation.  They have been looking at the different types of material and investigating which ones are waterproof and which ones absorb water.

We had fun yesterday working together in groups to collage WilliamWallace and Robert the Bruce.
