P1-4 Fire Safety Talk

As part of health week, the fire brigade came to our school to remind us how to stay safe at home in the event of a fire and taught us how to prevent them in the first place. We know we should turn off all electrical appliances and if we’re ever on fire, we should stop, drop and roll. Mrs Smith beautifully modelled a fire fighter’s uniform! Have a look and see how we got on!

Letter Writing in P1

Primary 1 were learning to write letters today. We found out lots of interesting things about the Falkirk Wheel so decided to ask Mr Thomas if we could go there on a trip.  We wrote him letters and put them in envelopes addressed to Mr Thomas.  Some of the pupils delivered them to his office. He was very impressed and said we can plan our trip.

Purposeful Play in P1A

Our theme for this session in Purposeful Play is Scotland.  We are finding out lots of facts to share with Percy the Park Keeper because he is coming to visit Scotland for his holiday.  We worked in the Tourist Information Shop, made castles out of Lego and on the computer, designed tartan and  made plasticine Loch Ness Monsters.

P1A Super Scientists

Today we learned that everything is made of ATOMS.  We became little atoms and made objects.  We watch a clip about how the atoms can be close together and make SOLIDS or have space between them to make LIQUIDS.   It was lots of fun deciding in our groups what category each item belonged to.  image image image image image image

Welcome

We have created an updated blog from the one pupils have been using so that the posts from previous years can be removed. You can still access this by clicking on the link, Previous Class Blog, under the BOOKMARKS section on the right.  Each class is learning to blog to share their work with others. We hope you visit us regularly to see all the wonderful things that are happening in St. Patrick’s Primary.
