St Andrew’s Day

Primary 7b were learning all about St Andrew yesterday. We looked at a presentation about the life of St Andrew and why he is Scotland’s patron saint. The children then chose a partner and completed a storyboard showing what they had learned. I was very impressed with their work!

P7 visit to St Maurice’s

All the Primary 7’s visited St Maurice’s yesterday morning. They were joined by P7 pupils from St Michael’s, Holy Cross and St Helen’s. The children all participated in different science investigations linked to chemistry, biology and physics. All the children throughly enjoyed taking part in the activities and finding out the results of the experiments. It gave them a great insight to the type of science lessons they will get in high school.

P7b Maths

Primary 7b have been working on their problem solving skills in maths. In pairs they designed a fireworks display, where they had to stay within a budget. They worked co-operatively to come up with the best money saving plan, although some were keen to spend it all!!

P7b RE

Primary 7b have been learning about Remembrance Day. They understand why we have Remembrance Day and the history of it.

They also know that November is the month of Remembrance in the church and the children have all been learning the Eternal Rest prayer. We are saying this everyday throughout the month of November and have also also chosen special people to pray for, who are no longer with us. We made poppies to symbolise this and create a special place in our classroom.

P7 Trip to Scottish Parliament

Last week Primary 7 travelled to Holyrood in Edinburgh to visit the Scottish Parliament. They had a guided tour around parliament and added to their knowledge they already had about the topic. After the tour, Jamie Hepburn stopped by briefly to talk to the children and answer some questions. It was an informative trip and the children all had a great day.
