Pupil Council

This week the agenda for the Pupil Council was looking at the document ‘How Good is OUR School’. We worked together to answer these reflective questions. We are going to use this to create our own questionnaire for each class. This is a great way for us to see how learning and teaching can be improved for us.

One of the most popular suggestions for improving our working environment was noise control. We have been researching different ways we can do this in each class.

Our next meeting will be April.

End of Fairtrade Fortnight

Today marked the end of our Fairtrade Fortnight at school.

To celebrate we invited Colleen from Scottish Fairtrade to speak to us and hear what we’ve been doing for Fairtrade

We also had a Coffee Afternoon where we sold Fairtrade treats baked by P3/4.

It was a huge success and overall we have ended up raising over £200 for Cocoa Farmers in Ghana!

Thanks to all who took part for their generosity!

Marine Litter Art Campaign in Primary 2

Primary 2 have been busy preparing for our submission for the Upstream Battle Marine Litter Art Competition.

To take part we have had to do 3 things: we have explored our environment and recorded any litter that we had seen, we have worked together to decide on a litter promise which is to make sure we always use the correct recycling bins and today we have been busy creating a piece of art to submit.

We decided to create a range of sea creatures using recyclable materials. We will make an ocean background for this too.

Electrical Energy

Primary 7 enjoyed learning about electrical energy through learning about and building their own circuits. They enjoyed taking part in challenges and solving problems.
