This week has been a very busy one in Primary Three.

To mark the beginning of Lent on Wednesday, we decided to make a Lenten promise chain of the things we will try to give up or take up for the 40 day period. We had a big discussion about why we were challenging ourselves this way, and we set achievable goals for ourselves. We hope that by doing this we will be able to understand more the sacrifices Jesus made when he was wandering the desert.

We also wanted to share our Lost Sheep display, which we made to remind ourselves that Jesus is our Shepard, who will always come looking for us if we are lost.

Thursday was a very special day at school as it was World Book Day!

To celebrate, we all brought in our favourite books from home and enjoyed sharing them with each other. We also had a lot of fun taking part in a scavenger hunt, where we had to work in teams to find books with certain things in them. As you can see we were all great team players and worked really well together.

We were also thrilled to learn that the author Matt Oldfield had given our class some of his books to enjoy! This was especially good news for those of us who love football – as his books are all about football players! We decided to write him some letters to ask questions about being an author, and tell him how grateful we are.
