Hello from Primary two

This week in Primary 2 as part of our topic  Castles we have designed and have made a crown using a  variety of materials and methods.  We have been learning why Kings and Queens traditionally wear crowns.  We have used ICT to observe and discuss different crown designs and have learned about the precious metal and stones which are part of a crown.  We know from our research that a crown is a symbol of power, glory and royalty.  This activity has been an excellent way in which to extend the vocabulary of the children.   The crowns formed an impressive, colourful display around our castle on our wall frieze.
