News from P4/5
Happy New Year!
The children have all settled well back in to school and have moved to our newly rewired class in room 15 with Mrs. Doyle.
This week they have enjoyed the visit and workshops on Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees. We all learned a great deal including working out incomes, expenditure and budgets. The children did so well that they were presented with certificates from Jim and Karen.
We have a busy term ahead. Our new topic is Electricity. In P.E. we are developing our ball skills and playing mini-games. Please ensure your child has their P.E. kit on Wednesdays and Fridays. Jewellery should be removed please.
The children will have many opportunities to design and be young engineers through STEM activities.
Please ensure reading books and homework jotters are returned to school daily as they will be required daily.
You can help your child at home by helping them learn the times tables, encouraging them to read; keep up to date with current affairs in the news; practising mental calculations.
Please share any achievements outwith school as we like to celebrate their successes in school too.
Assembly
Last week we had a doubled up assembly for Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 9 and 12. Well done to the boys and girls who were rewarded for their excellent attitude and behaviour by their teachers. Well done also to those who shared their successes outside of school and to the very kind young pupil who had her hair cut and donated it to the Little Princess Trust. Superstars!
