Primary 7 Yearbook
Work is underway to compile a yearbook for the Primary 7 classes. Pupils will be issued with a letter on Monday that asks they bring in 3 photographs ideally group shots that include a few other P7 pupils, one from early years/starting school and some that provide some light entertainment. We will include photographs from sporting events we already hold and of course Kilbowie.
You will appreciate this is a very time consuming task and in this regard your support would be very much appreciated, therefore early submission of photographs would help. Original photographs will be returned.
In order to proceed with the preparation of the yearbook it will be assumed you give consent for your child’s photographs to be included unless you state otherwise in writing.
Thank you in advance for your support.
House Captains Celebration
Mrs Docherty invited retiring and new house captains as well as candidates for a celebratory drink and snack this afternoon.
Whilst together Mrs Docherty took the opportunity to tell them how proud she is of their courage of putting themselves forward for these roles before complimenting them on how well they represent our school. We truly are blessed. We wish our new house captains well.
First Friday Mass
The school community gathered today for First Friday Mass with Father Kane and Deacon David. Thank you to our family and friends who joined us this morning.
Well done to those pupils who participated in the mass by reading, serving, offertory and bidding prayers.
End of Month Assembly
The whole school gathered after Mass this morning for our end of month assembly where we summarise all of our achievements, visitors and successes. Our assembly was a busy one with lots of information shared so we hope the boys and girls have shared with you some of the things said.
This mornings assembly was a great way to introduce most of our new House Captains who are in office from now until June. All pupils responded well to their new role and spoke with confidence in front of the whole school so we are very proud of them all.
Well done to those pupils who received awards today from their teacher for Maths, Writer or Artist of the Month. Keep up the great work everyone.
Assembly Award Winners
Congratulations to those pupils recognised at our P5-7 assembly this morning for special awards from their teachers.
Well done to Room 12 who won Best Line Award this week.
Our New House Captains
We are delighted to announce our new House Captains who will be in office until the end of the year. We are confident they will represent their houses well.
The standard of candidates was exceptionally high so everyone who put themselves forward should be very proud of themselves. You were outstanding boys and girls.
Financial Education Week
These P7 pupils were given a challenge today to pick a holiday destination of their choice. They were to source flights and accommodation for their group. There was a buzz in the classroom as destinations like Hawaii, Disneyland Paris, Poland, Ibiza and New York were discussed. At one point Mrs Drummond was asked if she wanted to go to Barbados!
After destinations were chosen, pupils looked for the best deal for foreign currency. They found out the currency of where they were going and decided on how much spending money they would take. Pocket money has certainly increased these days as figures like £10000 were quoted. Superb team work demonstrated today #mathsincontext #financialeducation #whenigrowupiwanttobeatravelagent
Compliments in P7
Paired Reading
Room 8 P7 had a lovely time this afternoon working with our Room 4 P2 reading buddies for our first Paired Reading session of 2020. P2 read their new books to P7 before finishing off with a nice story read by P7. Great teamwork.
