Christmas Lunch

Please check your child’s school bag for letter in regard of school Christmas Lunch.   Please ensure you return the letter to the school  by Friday 27th November to place your child’s lunch order.  Payment must be settled online by Thursday 3rd December.  Children from Pr. 1 – 3 are entitled to a free lunch.

Christmas Card Project

Please note details below in regard of placing orders for pupil designed Christmas Cards.  Please send  your child’s Christmas card design to the school office with their name and class on the back .  All card designs will be picked up by the PTA on Friday 27th November.

Orders will be taken via the PTA facebook page or by emailing the PTA email address. We didn’t think an order form would be a good idea as it would be more paper that would be handled. Payment will be taken via Paypal and once the cards are ready the PTA will deliver them to the homes via letterbox. Cards are £6.50 for a pack of 6.

As a school community we are keen to support Father Michael’s Christmas Appeal, particularly at this most challenging time for many families within our locality.  As such we are asking for the following to be sent to the school.

Tins of soups, vegetables, beans, spaghetti, meat,  fruit

Pasta and pasta sauce

Rice/Noodles

Biscuits

Sweet Treats

Custard/Rice Pudding

Ready Meals (tins)

Pr. 7 pupils will discuss at the morning assembly how we, as a school community,  can respond and keep the momentum going for 12 days.

Catholic Education Week

Over the next five days, St.Augustine’s will mark Catholic Education Week. This year’s theme is Jesus Christ – the Way, the Truth and the Life and teachers across the school will be using the specially-produced resources from the Scottish Catholic Education Service. Please can I invite pupils, staff, parents, parishioners and friends to join us in the prayer below  for Catholic Education Week throughout the coming days.

What’s on this week?

Last week was a busy time in school with all classes having a focus on National Anti-bullying Week and National Road Safety Week.  This week our attention turns to Catholic Education Week.  Last week we had the good fortune to celebrate Mass with staff and pupils from St.Ambrose High School  and to give thanks for our wonderful Catholic schools.  We thank Father Michael for making this possible  and Father McGachey for a lovely service. This year’s theme is Jesus Christ – the Way, the Truth and the Life and teachers across the school will be using the specially-produced resources from the Scottish Catholic Education Service.

A copy of this term’s latest newsletter was sent out last week via groupcall.  Please contact the school if you wish to have a paper copy.  A copy of the newsletter is available on the school website.
