Tuesday 30th August 2016

11.00am-12pm: Library Bus. Any pupils from P4/5, P5/6 and P6/7 who wish to visit the bus will be accompanied in small groups.

Wednesday 31st August 2016

9.45am-10.15am: Celebrating Success Assembly (Remember to bring any achievements from home).
6.00pm-8.00pm: Parent Council Meeting (All parents/carers are welcome to attend).

Thursday 1st September 2016

9.00am-10.00am: Mr. Kane, Brass Instructor, in school to work with Brass Instrumentalists.
11.00am-12.30pm: P5 Swimming Block at Shotts Leisure Centre begins today. Pupils require swimming costume and towel.

Friday 2nd September 2016

2.00pm-2.15pm: Extra Playtime for children who earn Silver or Gold.
2.15pm-2.45pm: Golden Time

Monday 22nd August 2016

A senior pupil from Calderhead High School begins a Work Experience Placement in the Nursery. She will visit on Monday mornings, Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings throughout the year.

Tuesday 23rd August 2016

10.00am-10.30am: All Primary 5 pupils will begin Kodaly Music Lessons this week with visiting Kodaly Teacher, Mrs. Wilkinson. Kodaly is a approach to teaching children about music through fun games, songs and activities. This will take place on a fortnightly basis.

Wednesday 24th August 2016

Our first ‘Celebrating Success Assembly’ takes place from 9.45am-10.15am. Pupil achievements in class will be shared and birthdays celebrated. If any pupil has an achievement from a club or event from the summer, they should bring it to share at assembly.
11am: Tea with Mr. Clark for this week’s ‘Stane Superstars!’

Thursday 25th August 2016

Miss Simpson will be attending a Literacy Course this morning. Supply Teacher, Mr Connolly will teach Primary 2/3

Friday 26th August 2016

Non-uniform Day. Pupils in the Nursery and School may wear their own clothes to school for £1 to raise money for the School Improvement Fund. This money should be given the class teacher in the morning and not put on the child’s dinner card.
2.00pm-2.15pm: Extra Playtime Reward for all pupils on Silver or Gold of the ‘Good to Be Green’ chart.
2.15pm-2.45pm: Golden Time.

Summer Holidays 2016

Summer-Holidays Stane Primary School and Nursery Class is now closed for the summer holidays.

We re-open to pupils on Wednesday 17th August 2016.

Thank you to all of our parents/carers, staff, pupils and friends for all you have done to make 2015/16 another great year at Stane.

Farewell Primary 7

Farewell to the Primary 7’s and good luck as you move on to Calderhead High School.

Nursery trip to Edinburgh Zoo.

All the nursery children and their parents had a great time at Edinburgh Zoo. There was lots of things to see and do. Some of the children and parents were even brave enough to hold some small animals!

General Information

School Meals this Week

Topping Up Cashless Cafeteria Cards

The last day that children can add money to their lunch card will be Monday 27^th June 2016.
If you use the online payment system, you can continue to top-up as normal.
Primary 7 pupils should spend the balance on their card as any unspent money cannot be refunded.
Any money left on P1-6 accounts will carry forward to next year.

Tuck Shop

Tuck shop will operate as normal every day next week (See above re last date to add funds to cards).

School Lunches

The usual lunch menu will operate on Monday 27^th and Tuesday 28^th June 2016.
There will be no ‘lunch time on Wednesday 29^th June as the school closes at 1pm.
Any child who wishes to order a Snack2Go for Wednesday should complete a form on Tuesday morning in class. (Please ensure adequate funds if you pay for meals).
There will be no other facility to order a lunch on Wednesday 29^th June 2016.
