Room 17’s Topics

Hi, I’m Lauren and you may know me from my other blog called running blog. If you haven’t already checked it out then I would say to you now you should go and check it out. Anyway lets get back to this blog. As you may see from the title this is about me and my classmates topics so far this year. So our first topic was the Victorians. We did lots of work on the Victorians.  We learnt that children would have to start work at the age of 4 years old! And they only would get paid 75p for 6-8 hours of work and lots and lots more. Then we had a lovely student teacher in called Miss Love. We did a Mighty Mountains topic and we also got special goggles and they had a electronic screen and it had Mount Everest on it and we could see boot camp and that was a day. Then we did a short topic on the Titanic, and we did fact files, posters, Power Points, and lots more.  Then we had a topic on Ahead Of Our Time.  And at this point Miss Love is still here.  And basically what ahead of our time is, it is talking about New Lanark and how it used to look and during that topic we went to the New Lanark town. And we also looked at children’s rights.  And how back then children didn’t have any rights. We also did some RME and we looked at different religions.  And then Miss Love leaves!! Awwwww! And now our topic is… Plants. And our wonderful Mrs Kindlan has made a beautiful display in our classroom about plants.

I hope you enjoyed my blog, stay tuned for more. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Room 17’s Reading Books This Year

Hi, I’m Lauren and you may know me from some of my other blogs. I’m here today to tell you about some of the reading books I have read and what I rate them and some of my favourite authors and their books too. Now my class has different reading books for certain groups so I’m just going to tell you about the ones I’ve had.

  1. Kasper: Prince of Cats by Michael Morpurgo, now I would rate this book a 10/10 because all of the language he uses in it, the way he describes his characters is amazing. So now I’ll tell you a little bit about the story. So it’s about a little boy called Johnny Trott and he is a little boy who’s mum left him and he is an orphan and he works as a door boy on a boat and Johnny thinks that he sees his  mum and she is called Countess Kandinsky and Johnny describes her as being beautiful. And she has a cat and he is called Kasper. Kasper is a black cat who has lovely fur. And Johnny helps her look after the cat when she is away doing shows. Then one night the Countess gets knocked down and Johnny keeps Kasper. But Johnny finds another family who have a little girl called Elizabeth. And Johnny, Kasper, Elizabeth and her parents all went on the Titanic and Johnny goes as a stowaway to Australia.
  2. The Santa Maria by Kenneth Steven, I would rate it a 5/10 because I don’t think it was my type of style.
  3. The Eye Of The Wolf by Daniel Pennac I would rate this 10/10. I loved this book to pieces!!! It was just so so interesting because a wolf who lost one of his eyes in a fight against humans and a little Arican boy called Africa and Africa could see his life story through the Wolf’s eye.
  4. And currently I’m reading Beetle Boy by M.G Leonard and I’m liking it so far.

Books I Like:-

  1. The Dork Diaries series by Rachel Renne Russell
  2. Roald Dahl books
  3. Michael Morpurgo Books
  4. Enid Blyton Books
  5. Francesca Simon Books
  6. David Walliams Books
  7. A Series Of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

Thank you for reading my blog, byeeeeeeee

Football rules 😎😜

My name is Ben.  I love football.  My favourite teams are Rangers and Motherwell.  Back to me!  There’s a big game of football p5 vs p6.  I’m going to show off my skills.  It will probably end badly though, the p5 are the best football players out of the school.  In football you need to be a strong player.  You will need to eat healthy and keep fit.  You will need a new strip every year.  My strip is like this blue top and blue or white shorts and blue socks and white and gold boots to make me run faster.  I do a lot of football drills too get me and my legs fitter.  It is really helpful to know all of this.  Hope you enjoy reading this post.⚽️⚽️

The Life Of A Drama Queen👑😜👑👑👯

Being a drama queen is never easy take it from me.  Hi my name is Niamh and I am a drama queen.  Welcome to my blog.  I love acting more than you could ever know.  But I will be honest, sometimes acting can be hard like when you do not get the lead role, oh that breaks my little heart.  So I will be going to a HUGE  theater to perform, and I am in two plays -YAY!  In one of them I am the lead character super – YAY!  The play that I am the lead character in is a pirate play and I am the captain.

I have not told you about my best friend Aisha.  She loves pugs and me and she loves jojo bows so much.  And my other friends are Lauren, Amelia, Rachel, Lily and Keira.I love spending time with them.  And I am buying a ticket for Aisha to come to my big show.  I can  not wait for acting on Saturday.

To help people that are wanting to get into the acting business here are some tips and tricks:-

  1. Never turn around in a play but you can turn your head.
  2. Do a voice warm up before every big show.
  3. Practise every day so you do not forget your lines, and freeze.
  4. Smile through the whole show, but if you are a bad character growl.
  5. Remember, just have fun.

So I hope that you enjoyed hearing about my acting life and learned some new things – toddles.👯

My favourite sports

My name is Sumaiyya. I am 9 years old, and I am 10 on July the 24th. I have many favourite sports, my most favourite sport is taekwondo.  I  have a partner called Alisha from school she goes to taekwondo too.  My teacher is called Iqra and her sister Sunnah.  Taekwondo means the art of kicking and punching.  We do lots of punches, like rising block, inner form block, outer form block etc, and kicks –  side kick, snap kick, back kick etc.  We do warm ups to start us off like press-ups, running and lots more. I also like doing swimming.  We go there every Friday for 12 weeks, and I learn lots of knew stuff.  At the end we get to have play time then I like to practice lots of different swimming techniques.  I am in group a with Lilly and Alisha because I can only swim a little bit.  When we get out of the pool it is very cold.  Then we go to our changing room and change to go to volley ball. And then we go back to school.

Hi my name is Grant Jackson and I’m 9. I like to play football because I’m good at it and it’s fun 🙂🙂.

I was recently in a match v Real Madrid U10’s. The match finished 2-2 so we went on penalties and we won 4-2 so we won that match.  The next match started and it was the last match🙁🙁, that match finished 3-2 to Atletico Madrid U10s☹️☹️ so it was a TITLE LEAGUE DRAW😐😐!

BARCELONA 3 POINTS

ATLETICO MADRID 3 POINTS

Maybe we do have to play another match…

And the results are –

3-2 BARCELONAAAAAA

That Means they win the tournament 😀😀😀😀😀!

New Cycling

Hi I’m Ethan and I’m going to tell you about cycling.  I have been down to Baron’s Haugh and it was fabulous.  Also I have a bike that my dad’s friend built.  I would love to go on the Olympics and be a cyclist and win as many gold medals as I could.  I work as well as I can.  My favourite bike is a BMX bike.  I’d beat my dad every single time we raced through leave or right beside a road.  I always had my brilliant dad beside me and my dad and I have improved since the beginning of my cycling,
