P5 and P5/6 Science Centre Visit!

P5 and P5/6 had an awesome time at the Glasgow Science Centre today!

P5 have been learning about How the World Works, while P5/6 have been learning about Space.

The children visited all three floors of the Science Mall for some hands-on fun, pictured below! The children also went to the Planetarium for an excellent Space presentation – there was so much learning happening!

Let’s not forget that the day was topped off by a trip to the Gift Shop – the most important aspect of any school trip!

A Bridge Too Far!?

Friday 25th January saw a bridge bonanza day here at Rochsolloch.  Working with ICE (Institute of Civil Engineers) from BAM Nutall Scotland, pupils took part in ‘Bridges to Schools’ hands-on activity giving them the chance to build a 13m long cable stayed bridge. Having assembled the bridge they then walked across it, learning about bridges, teamwork and civil engineering as they went.  Pupils also engaged in using CAD software to design a bridge, worked collaboratively to build K-Nex bridges and investigated traditional methods when designing their own bridge.

It may have been icy outside but P6 and P7 pupils at Rochsolloch were making sure it was safety first!
