Greetings!

Greetings P5/6!

I hope you and family and friends are all well, safe and happy!

At the moment, as we should be starting a new term I’m going to start posting tasks each day, starting from today (Monday the 20th of April) I have put these tasks into your assignments school bag on GLOW teams. This means that you will be able to type the task on the word document I have sent you and you can then return it to me for feedback and the awarding of certificates and Dojo points!

Please don’t worry if you get stuck with any of the tasks or you and your family are doing something else, this is just to add a little extra to your day!

Also if you want to chat please remember that you can do so on our p5/6 class team page.

I will be posting a weekly Sumdog maths and spelling challenge.

Also there will be ideas on this blog for outdoor learning when you are out and about getting some fresh air and exercising (safely of course!)

Keep safe and healthy!

Best wishes

Competition

If you’re getting bored can I suggest going to crackingideas.com there is a competition on there to design a useful invention. The prize is a chance to go to the Wallace and Gromit studios to do a workshop with them. Don’t worry if you can’t print off the entry form. They will accept your ideas on plain paper by post. Good luck!

P5/6 GLOW team

Hello Primary 5/6!

Today I have created a GLOW team for you on GLOW. It is a space where you can all get together. Some tasks may be put in this area and there is a classroom area where we can all do things together.

Mrs Winning hopes to stop by and have a chat with you at some point and there will be more exciting tasks and things to do.

To become a member you will find I have emailed you a link to Microsoft outlook on GLOW. Paste the link to your browser and follow the instructions. As it is a private group you will have to wait to be accepted.

See you soon!

Week beginning 30th March

Hello p5/6 pupils,

I hope you and family and friends are all well!

Here are some resources for this week to keep you from getting bored.

Maths

As I have already mentioned I have set you a maths challenge which starts on Monday and finishes on Friday. It has a rather nice coin prize for those who achieve it.

Here is a maths grid too:maths activity grid

Language and literacy

I have also set you a little spelling revision challenge also on Sumdog which will start on Monday:

Here is a useful little booklet which can be used with any novel you are reading at the moment. It doesn’t have to be printed off, just use it to answer the questions on whatever paper you have to hand. Reading Strategies booklet

Here is a language grid for you too: language activity grid

IDL, Health and STEM

This week have a look at how animals interact. Here is a link to the San Diego Zoo’s web cams courtesy of TPet : https://animals.sandiegozoo.org/live-cams

and courtesy of the Highland Wildlife Park, Kincraig (home to an extremely large polar bear and his mum, amongst other animals) is a good webpage with lots of fun and interesting activities: http://bit.ly/ZooToYouActivities

Finally here is a little STEM project to do with food labelling, get the felt pens and paper out! stem project 1

Take care and keep safe Primary 5/6!
