Orchard Primary & Nursery

A very exciting afternoon in P1

Primary 1 returned from lunch on Thursday to find a green glittery trail leading to a special letter. The boys and girls were buzzing with excitement to hear what the letter said. Mrs Johnstone read the letter, which told them of a sad dragon who no longer had somewhere to live because people had stopped reading fairytales. He set P1 a challenge to try and re-build Fairyland by reading lots of fairytales and believing in all the characters.

The boys and girls became dragon detectives and enjoyed looking for clues of the dragon’s visit all around the school. They found dragon skin (green glitter!!) in a few of our classrooms, the janitors’ office, the corridors and even in Mrs Woodward’s office…wow!!

Primary 1 accepted his challenge and on Friday we read Jack and the Beanstalk and then started to decorate leaves to make a new beanstalk for Jack! We can’t wait to see it when it’s finished. Keep checking for more updates on what we’re doing to re-build Fairyland.
