Our IDL theme for this term is focussing on Farm to Fork. We identified foods that come from animals and from plants. Thinking of food from plant we then thought about the different parts of plant that we eat, e.g. Celery is the stem, peas are seeds, spinach are leaves, broccoli is the flower bud, potatoes are roots. We visited Mrs Scallan’s class to ask her about her potatoes her class are growing. She allowed us to feed and water the potato plants for them. We are going to keep a close eye on these to see how they develop…… maybe she may get even let us use them in some cooking!
