To celebrate Robert Burns, on Wednesday 25th January, we had our very own a Burns Supper in P5/6/7 LCSC. We began the morning with a look at the Address to a Haggis and tried to understand and translate some of the Scots text.
We then used our ICT to find pictures of a “haggis”. We laughed when we found a picture of a small, hairy, short legged animal, which some people from other countries believe a haggis to be.
We then made and ate our haggis needs and tatties, washed down with Irn Bru and followed by shortbread. We used this also as an opportunity for our writing task, as we wrote instructions on how to cook our meal and wrote a review of the food we had tasted. This may have been one of our favourite days at school!
