P3/4L learning on Remembrance Day

Today is the 11th of November and we have been learning about Remembrance Day.  It is also known as Armistice Day.  We made poppy wreaths to remember the soldiers who died for us.  We use poppies as a symbol of remembrance because they were the first flowers to grow on the battlefields after the First World War.  Mrs. Reid showed us a picture online of her Great Grandfather who fought in the Second World War.  He was wearing his Army Uniform and looked very smart.
