Johnny and the Dead by Terry Pratchett

Plot

Johnny Maxwell takes a shortcut through the local cemetery and realises that he can see and hear the dead people that are buried there. He tells them that the council have sold the cemetery land to a large company who intend to build offices on it. Johnny begins plans to stop the destruction going ahead, while the dead make some discoveries of their own.

Did you know?

One of the Dead is a First World War soldier. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission was set up to create and look after the graves of men and women from Commonwealth countries who fought in World War I.  This includes graves in Motherwell and graves of people from Motherwell who died overseas.
