Skellig Michael is the larger of the Skellig Islands  tiny rocky islands off the south-west coast of Ireland.  It is a World Heritage Site due to the ruins of a Celtic monastery.  Both islands are important for their bird colonies.

David Almond’s book, Skellig, is named after  the island; the protagonist’s name is Michael.

Skellig Michael was used as a location in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
