We’ve all been there:
“What did you do in school today?”
to which your child replies “Nothing!”
Of course, as a Cathedral parent/carer, you already know there’s NEVER a wasted day in our vibrant school community and that EVERY morning and afternoon is filled with enjoyable and challenging learning experiences to engage your child and help them reach their full potential across the curriculum… and this week has been no exception!
As we arrive at the end of another exciting week of learning, Mr Young encourages parents and carers to dip into our ‘Talking to your child about their learning’ leaflet and select one or two prompts to have a short chat with their child about their recent learning. The leaflet can be accessed via the link below:

Cathedral’s Lenten almsgiving took on a Spanish twist on Friday 14th March, with learners and staff being invited to wear the colours of the Spanish
flag. There was also the opportunity to get some Spanish-themed face painting, which was very popular with learners across the school.
Cathedral nursery learners are enjoying accessing our Forest Schools area, just outside the school grounds. In this wonderful woodland environment,
the children have exciting opportunities to build problem-solving skills, confidence, independence and resilience as they are given freedom to test their limits in the natural world.
Fr Lamb celebrates Mass in the gym hall at 8.15am every Tuesday and Friday morning throughout Lent.

Eleven Cathedral athletes participated in the North Lanarkshire cross country finals at Wishaw Sports Centre on Wednesday 12th March. Our Primary 5 boys did exceptionally well, coming 1st in their category. What a phenomenal result!
Primary 3 learners celebrated their First Reconciliation in Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral on Tuesday 11th March. It was a beautiful, prayerful liturgy and there was barely a dry eye in the church when the children sang their thanksgiving hymn, ‘I’m accepted, I’m forgiven’.
These two Primary 1 learners were very proud to share a ‘Milestone Moment’ in their maths jotter with Mr Young on Tuesday 11th March. Their
maths group have been learning to add two digit numbers over the past few weeks and have also been learning how to set out sums neatly and accurately in their maths jotter, including one number per square and always using a ruler when drawing lines.
The latest artwork to appear in Cathedral GOMA (Gallery Of Magnificent Art) online exhibition comes from Primary 4A.
