Investigation and Innovation Hub

Cathedral’s Investigation & Innovation Hub provides an additional learning space for pupils, beyond their classroom and learning street, to engage and collaborate in investigation, enquiry, problem solving and open-ended projects. Our young learners have been busy developing their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills through a series of exciting STEM challenges while working with Miss Cameron.

Pupils explored different types of bridges and discovered how shapes and structures help bridges remain strong and support weight. Working collaboratively in teams, the children designed and built their own bridges using only paper. They tested their ideas, evaluated their designs and made improvements to create the strongest structures possible.
It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, collaboration and imaginative thinking on display. Our young engineers showed that there are many ways to solve a problem and that some of the best solutions come from working together.
