Old Monkland Transition Information

Please find below some information for our new Primary 1 pupils starting school in August. We have included a short video showing some areas of the school building and a booklet of information for children starting school.

Please remember school closes for Easter on Thursday 1st April for P4, 5/6,6 and 7 at 2.15pm. Primary 1, 2/3, and 3/4 finish at 2.30pm.
School reopens for all on Monday 19th April.

Week Beg Feb 22nd – School Update

Dear Families

As of Monday 22nd P.1-3 children will be returning to school full time . P.4-7 have to remain on Digital Learning from home for now. Therefore we have decided to delay issuing  our Final Pupil Progress Reports this Session until June to enable staff to fully assess pupil progress of quantity and quality of tasks being returned and to report this to families as accurately as possible . We also want to ensure we give all children and families as much credit as we can for all of the effort and hard work they have put in to ensure learning has continued from home.

We know this has been a very long haul for families but we would ask if you could all please continue to try as best you can with the tasks class teachers are providing. Please ask your child to try to submit their best content and presentation on their main tasks and tell them that all their efforts will be reflected in their Reports in June.

We will also be starting school assemblies again online and starting some new reward systems to acknowledge the excellent effort we are seeing from our families

Dear Families,

As you will be aware all nursery children can now return to Nursery from Monday 22nd February.

Our 1140hrs Session Times are-

Term Time Children- 8.45 am – 2.45 pm

AM Children- 8.00 am – 12.45 pm

PM Children – 1.15 pm – 6 pm

Please remember, face coverings and social distancing are required on entry to school grounds at drop off and collection times, it is still so very important we take good care of each other.

We look forward to welcoming all of our families back and will do all we can to help your wee ones settle back into Nursery Routines and have lots of fun with their friends

Dear Families

As you will have heard all P.1 -3 children can return to school full time as of Monday 22nd February. This means our previous Gates/ Zones for drop off and collection will come back into use.

Children coming to Breakfast Club can enter via main reception from 8.15.

P.4-7 Children of Key Workers /Vulnerable Families ONLY continue to be dropped off and collected from our main reception 8.45 am – 2.45pm

P.1- 3 Children 9am- 3pm

P.1 Class Zone 1 RED – Craigend Drive Gate

P.2/3 Class Zone 2 YELLOW – Craigend Dr Gate

P.3/4 Class Zone 3 GREEN -Community Education Gate

NB- To help support social distancing for adults at the Craigend Drive Gate P. 1 parents are welcome to come into the playground and stand along the grassed edge to the right of Craigend Drive Steps as you enter – behind the red zone as far back as possible please .

All children attending school will now be expected to wear their full school uniform.

All Children in P1-3 will receive their universal free school lunch.

We would be grateful if adults could remember face coverings and social distancing at all times during drop off and collection.
