Good luck Primary 7!

We absolutely loved seeing you yesterday for a final farewell. We hope you enjoyed looking in your leavers packs and have enjoyed wearing your hoodies!

If you have any pictures of you wearing your hoodies or releasing your balloons, please send them in because we would love to see them 🙂

I hope you have a fantastic holiday and good rest before heading to high school. You have made us all really proud.

Good morning P7!

Welcome to your last week of primary school! I can’t believe we are here already. We are all disappointed that we are not able to celebrate your leavers in the usual way, but we are looking forward to celebrating you in what way we can this week.

We tried to call round last week with our plans for this week. If you are unsure of our plans, please give us a call at the school.

I have also got one final transition task for you, if you would like to give it a go: OMPS Transition Task 6

Speak soon!

Good Morning Primary 5/6

Good morning boys and girls,

I hope we all had a lovely weekend! This weekend Archie and I went a walk, played outside and drew on a cardboard box that was going to go in the bin. He had lots of fun using the different colours! Yesterday we had a lazy day in the house because of the weather. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday dinner where Archie tried some roast beef.

The Summer Holidays start this week. I want to say a big thank you for all of your hard work and that I am very proud of all of your efforts with this new way of learning. Please try to familiarise yourself with Microsoft Teams as much as possible because you will be using this as a learning tool when we return to school. I will open previous quizzes that people may not have had the chance to do so you can feel more confident in what they look like.

The winner of our Sumdog Probability Competition is… Kara! Super job! I have also sent rewards to all of you who participated. Thank you for all of your efforts. This week I have set up some division practice and a Multiplication Check for today.

Since we are finishing up for summer I have attached some summer activities below.

Beach Riddles

How to make an Origami Lotus Flower instructions

Summer Activity Booklet

Summer Code Breaker

Summer Homework Grid

I have also attached some PowerPoint Quizzes that I thought you may enjoy.

Odd One Out Quiz

Would You Rather Quiz 2

Would you rather Quiz

I hope you have a relaxing and super summer! I cannot wait to see your smiling faces back at school. School will look a little different when we return but try not to worry as this is new for all of us even teachers! It is all to ensure we are safe and are following social distancing guidance.

Looking forward to seeing you all. Stay safe,

Miss Jones x

You can also try to think of a cool spelling of your own or try spelling them out with daisies or stones or pasta.

Well done to those of you who have completed last week’s Epic Reading task. I have attached new tasks below on the book ‘Finding Home’. I hope you have enjoyed having a book to read! Remember you can pick different books to read too. You could maybe do a ten minute silent read like what we did in class after our lunch.

Epic Reading

On Sumdog, I have set Probability Competition for Maths and an Adjective Check Up. I am so proud of all of your efforts!

Newsround have lots of interactive Quizzes that you can do! It would be great to hear what ones you do on Microsoft Teams.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround#more-stories-4

Since we cannot go on our school trip this year as we normally would I found a link that lets you choose a virtual trip! Hopefully this will brighten up your day and allow you to experience different trips.

https://www.teachpal.co.uk/virtual-trips-for-children/

From these trips you could do the following activities-
• Create a brochure
• Design an advertising poster
• Create a quiz about the place that you have visited
• Make a fact file about the place you have visited
• Create a piece of artwork inspired by the place you visited
• Write a recount of your visit
• Write something new you have learned from your trip
• Plan your trip – what do you think you will need to take with you?

I hope you have a great week and I am looking forward to seeing where some of you go on a virtual trip!

Have a look at the timetable of classes here: Transition-TT2 Today there is an assembly, English and a PE lesson for you to view. The PE lesson can be found on the Coatbridge High Website

To log into Teams you need to join the Team by using the code given on the timetable. You will be able to see the teachers but they won’t be able to see you. Please get in touch if you would like more help with Teams.

I have also got a written transition task for you to complete: OMPS Transition Task 5 It is all about your hopes and dreams for High School.
