Thursday Maths

Show me that you can add, take away, multiply and divide with money. You choose the operation and appropriate working.

I will post the answers this afternoon so that you can self assess before you send your work to me.

I am so proud that we have won a Sumdog certificate for our school and the fact that it is for accuracy is even better! šŸ‘šŸ‘āļø Continue to make Sumdog a part of your everyday maths routine and iā€™m sure we will all see the results.

Thursday- STEM

I thought you all deserved a school trip! Head over to the virtual classroom and Ā into the STEM page for week 3. Activity 1 is a virtual reality task where you can choose some really amazing things to look at.

Remember the new way to access the virtual classroom is from your glow launchpad. It wonā€™t be in the same page as your blog tile, you have to click the little building on the left hand side of the page and this will take you to the North Lanarkshire council page. You will find the multicoloured virtual classroom tile on this page.

Look at my instructional picture below.

Let me know where you go!

Thursday Health and Well-being

Below is a powerpoint all about mental health. Itā€™s important to take time for ourselves and to be able to talk to people about our feelings. There are a few tasks to complete at the end of the powerpoint.

Thursday Baking

If we were in school this week we would have baked some shortbread to celebrate Being Scottish. Here is a recipe you might like to try at home. Let me know how it tastes!

Word of the Day for Wednesday

Happy Wednesday P7. The word to register for online learning is ‘cantankerous’.

Just a reminder that we have a class catch up today atĀ 11am onĀ Teams.Ā With this being the week when many will have celebrated the work of Robert Burns by having a Burns supper at home, we’d like you to have a pencil and paper to hand this morning as we’ve got a Scottish themed quiz planned.

Maths for Wednesday

1. Task one is to spend time on Sumdog. Aim to complete fifteen minutes if you can. Keep in mind that your time spent on Sumdog should be valued and not so brief that it’s a check in and not much more. I’ll log in at 3pm today to see how you have got on.

  1. Continuing with our work on Money and in a slight change from problem solving on a Wednesday, I have a PowerPoint for you to read through. Now due to the current situation how we pay for items has changed slightly as we’re encouraged to pay using the contactless method of payment.

Money-How Payments Are Changing I have attached two pages for you to work through as you are reading the PowerPoint. Shopping Choices Ā Ā How Should They Pay

I.D.L. for Wednesday

For topic work today you’ll be thinking about a well known individual from the Victorian era, namely Thomas Barnardo.

  1. Listen to the concluding part, part 3 of the radio drama started yesterday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/history-chimney-sweeps/z6k9bdm
  2. View the short film from BBC Teach all about Mr Barnardo & make relevant notes as you’re watching. Try to be selective.Ā https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/true-stories-thomas-barnardo/zky7pg8
  3. Read the information contained in the passage attached and if you have time, you’re welcome to answer the questions which follow. Thomas BarnardoĀ
  4. Finally, create a poster of information all about Thomas Barnardo. The poster should contain at leastĀ five facts and if you consult any other sources, remember to record them.
