Breakfast Clubs
From Monday 15th March, Breakfast Clubs will return to full service for all families who require the service. Children will be seated in Bubbles, staff supervising breakfast club sessions will maintain social distancing and wear gloves and face coverings.
Staggered Entry and Exits
As our whole school community comes together once again we will be re-introducing staggered entry and exit times for each class. This will ease congestion in the playground, in the corridors and stairwells around the school, and for adults at the school gates. Please see below for a note of new school day times for each stage:
8.50am – 2.50pm All P1s, All P5s, All P6s
9am – 3pm All P3s and all P4s
9.10am – 3.10pm All P2s and all P7s
To help support in the smooth running of these arrangements we ask that parents and carers adhere to the following:
- Children will enter and exit the building at staggered times, children should only arrive in school a few minutes before their starting time unless attending breakfast club
- Where siblings have different start times, siblings may all arrive together at the earliest start time
- Siblings can leave together at the earliest leaving time with prior arrangement with the school, children who are able to walk home independently should be encouraged to do so. In the event that siblings have different exit times, any parent wishing to make arrangements for their children to be dismissed together can do so through prior arrangement with the school, please e-mail enquiries@mossend.n-lanark.sch.uk if this is required
- Parents are responsible for ensuring that they are adhering to 2m physical distancing at the school gates, face masks must also be worn unless individuals are exempt

Attendance Please read carefully
A reminder that no child should attend school if they are displaying any of the following symptoms:
- A new or persistent cough
- A temperature
- A loss of taste or smell
If anyone in your household, or someone your child has had close contact with, requires to have a Covid test then your child should not attend school until the result of the test is known. If in doubt, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we can offer you guidance based on the most current advice. If you make the decision to take your child for a Corona Virus test, please telephone and inform the school office.
If someone in your household, or a close contact, receives a positive test result, then all members of your household should self-isolate for 10 days.
A reminder that in line with current guidelines, we should not be visiting other households, this extends to children too. Playing outdoors together is permitted.
If your child is unwell and cannot attend school then please call the school office to inform staff as early as possible in the morning.
Parent Support Plea – Please read carefully
Staff are working tirelessly to ensure that our learning environment is as safe as it can be for our wee ones. We appeal to our parent community to support us with this. Please stick promptly to the timings for your children, and do not hang around at the school gate. If you are dropping off, or picking up your children then please wear a face covering unless you have an exemption.
Parents of children in P1 – P3 should still enter the school grounds at the end of the school day to collect, however, you must vacate the grounds as soon as possible to allow the next exit time to do so safely. We thank you in advance for your co-operation with this.
