Well, that wasn’t in the plan! What a week in the life of Kirkshaws! Snow, ice and difficult journeys to and from school have made it tricky to function normally at times this week, but thank you all for the efforts you made to send your children daily. Learning continued, despite the adverse weather conditions. It has been a pleasure meeting all our new P.1 parents, and some children too,
All NLC schools will start closing from 12 noon today. Staff will remain in school with your child until they are collected.
We have a busy week ahead enrolling for August. If you know of any pupils who are intending to start school this year please advise their parents to telephone the school office to make arrangements. Clubs start back this week with a new range of after-hours learning opportunities. For some clubs we had so many interested participants that the clubs will need to run more than once over the term.
Happy New Year! It was great to welcome everyone back to school on Monday and what a busy week it was to kick off the new term. There will be a Scottish theme running through many lessons over the next few weeks, as we celebrate Rabbie Burns birthday. Looking back over the past week, I’m amazed at how we have managed to fit it all in! We’ve welcomed two new pupils into the Kirkshaws family and it has been so encouraging to see the hand of friendship being offered to both girls by their classmates.
