Mrs N’s Notes, 9.12.22

Week 2 menus coming up, but remember there is a big change on Wednesday! We will be having our CHRISTMAS DINNER! If you haven’t ordered your lunch already you should remember to bring a packed lunch that day.

CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT

We are practising hard for our Christmas Carol Concert that will be held on 19th, 20th & 21st December.  All families are invited to buy 2 tickets, however ALL REMAINING TICKETS WILL GO ON GENERAL SALE ON WEDNESDAY 14TH DECEMBER.  At that point there will be no limit to the tickets you can buy…until we sell out!  Tickets for Tuesday & Wednesday remain on sale from our school office: adults £2.50, children £1.  (Monday is now sold out.)

As previously stated, pupils can wear uniform, Christmas jumpers, some tinsel or party clothes (if their party is on Tue or Wed afternoon).  We only ask that we don’t have any hats or other headgear that will stop the audience seeing all children performing.  Thank you.

PARTY, PARTY, PARTY

All dates for parties have been sent out previously.  Pupils will party with their YEAR GROUP; i.e. all P.1 pupils will be together.  Pupils can come to school dressed in their fancy clothes on the morning of their party, but please remember they will need sensible shoes or boots and a heavy jacket too as they will be playing outside throughout the day as usual.

NURSERY CHRISTMAS TREAT

Our pupils in nursery have been enjoying their trips to Summerlee this week.  All groups will have the opportunity to go, with the remaining groups heading off on Monday & Tuesday next week.  Once again, many thanks to the parents who have volunteered to help.  We couldn’t do it without you!

CHRISTMAS MARKET

Your Parent Council has planned a Christmas Market that will be operating each day (Mon-Wed) of our final week of term, before each Carol Concert performance.  You will have the opportunity to buy some crafts made by each class, plus take part in some prize draws, etc.  Thanks for all your donations to the Hampers this week, we will have a hamper ready to be won each day of the Markets.  Thank you, once again, for your generosity.

P.7 OUTDOOR WEEK

We must give a huge vote of thanks to Mr Gall, Mrs Payne, Mrs Law & Mr Sharp for accompanying our P.7 learners to Strathclyde Park for their outdoor week.  It may have been the coldest week of the year so far, but that didn’t dampen the spirits!  As you can see from these snaps, it was challenging and enjoyable in equal measure! More photos to come…

CURRENT MEDICAL ALERTS NATIONWIDE

As  you will have seen and heard in the media, there is a national increase in the cases of Strep A and Scarlet Fever across the UK.  Some families are looking to the school and nursery for advice but, as always, we will point you back to NHS guidance.  Please see the links below if you are concerned about this:

Scarlet Fever – NHS Inform

Strep A – NHS Inform

If your child is ill they should be kept at home.  If your child is diagnosed with one of these conditions, please inform the school office by telephone and follow medical advice.
