RETURN TO THE SCHOOL BUILDING

At this point we have no more information regarding the planned return to school for key year groups announced by the First Minister recently.  We are expecting confirmation of this early next week and we will then be in touch with how this will look at Kirkshaws in both the school and nursery.

REMOTE LEARNING

We have seen a dip in pupil engagement this week.  We understand this will be due to the holiday weekend and the fabulous snowfall that accompanied it!  While we are delighted that so many of our pupils have taken the chance to have fun outside, we hope everyone can also take part in the learning and teaching that continues to be posted on Teams weekly and daily.  Thank you for your support in this.

Some classes have a new set of reading books out for collection in the hall.  Families with children in Rooms 1, 2, 4, 5 & 8 can collect these reading books for next week’s literacy tasks any day that suits you.  We would ask that you avoid arriving at 9am and 3pm.

We have an wide range of lessons planned for the coming days: from Valentine’s love to delicious pancakes, I’m sure you will find plenty of exciting tasks to carry out at home.  Next week we also have a particular focus on STEM – that is Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths… I can’t wait to see what experiments, investigations and challenges await us.  As always, Mr Sharp will post learning grids in all the usual places on Sunday evening to allow you to plan your week.

SEE YOU ON MONDAY!
