CHRISTMAS PARTIES…WITH A DIFFERENCE
As you know, none of us can attend a traditional Christmas Party this year, and the same applies in school and nursery. In order to keep everyone safe, risk assessments remain in place daily. These will not be relaxed.
However, we are determined to keep the festive spirit alive and give our young people plenty of reason to celebrate the festive season.
We are working hard to plan fun-packed Christmas activity days which we will continue to call our Class Parties, even though these will not resemble parties of previous years.
We will have music and snacks as always, and party games will be reviewed to ensure all safety rules are adhered to. Many classes are planning to do Christmas arts and crafts – some teachers have informed me these activities could be messy (to make them even more fun)!
So, this year, we do not recommend pupils wearing fancy party clothes to school for several reasons:
- children will not be allowed to return home at lunchtime to change as we normally would
- as with PE, pupils will not have access to changing facilities in school so they need to come to school wearing their party gear
- teachers continue to adhere to 2m distancing wherever possible, so they can’t help fix that flouncy skirt or fancy belt buckle
- and MOST IMPORTANTLY our Class Parties could stretch across the whole day, so pupils will be wearing these clothes out in the playground, eating lunch, painting or using felt pens or glue!
Please keep your party clothes for Christmas Day.
Children in the nursery are being invited to come dressed for a pyjama party! Now that sounds like fun!
Pupils in the school can wear their normal school clothes, dress down, add a touch of tinsel or pop on a Christmas jumper that day – the choice is yours. But please don’t wear anything you would worry about getting messy.
Our Christmas Party Dates are:
Thursday 17th December
Rooms 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 & 14
Friday 18th December
Nursery & Rooms 1, 2, 15 & 16
I am also told that a Special Visitor has arranged to join the Nursery and Room 1 parties from a distance!!
CHRISTMAS JUMPERS
We are looking forward to enjoying our on-line Pantomime on Wednesday 16th December. We are making this our ‘official’ Christmas Jumper Day if you would like to take part. As always, any children who would rather wear their school uniform are welcome to do so.
We have purchased snacks for all children to enjoy whilst watching the performance, so there is no need to bring anything extra that day.
Christmas jumpers can also be worn on party days 🙂
CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE
We are looking forward to seeing your family performances on our end of term video. Remember, Sunday evening (13.12.20) is the deadline for clips to be uploaded to Teams.
