RETIREMENT NEWS

It is with mixed emotions that we marked the retirement of Mrs Paterson, our Catering Manager, this week.  Mrs Paterson has fed more hungry kids and adults here than we could possibly count!  Due to ill health she hasn’t been seen in Kirkshaws for some time, but we were delighted that she was well enough to visit us for a short time yesterday for a celebration tea.

As I told her yesterday, she leaves a legacy in Kirkshaws where all children are loved and no child will go hungry – whether it was huge appetites, fussy eaters or dropped plates, she made sure the food just kept coming…all done with a smile!

Although we miss her, we wish her well on her retirement and we look forward to see her popping in, to keep us on our toes, over the coming years.

THE END OF AN ERA!

Another group we must say goodbye to is our Class of 2023!  Once again, we can only repeat how proud we are of this group of young people who have continued to follow our school motto: ACHIEVE, BELIEVE, SUCCEED!  This week they performed for their families and invited guests, then took part in a day of challenges and messy fun with Mr Gall & Mr Sharp!  I know there will be tears at 1pm, but as I reminded you on Monday, although this is a Full Stop Day, it is not the end of your story.  The end of a chapter, yes, but we have just set the scene…now to the future, the plot twists we don’t expect, your resilience in the tough times, the highlights and the adventures you haven’t even dreamt of yet.  Your life-story has still to be written and we are so proud to have been a part of it!  Come back and visit soon! Love you lots, our Jelly Tots 😉

FULL STOP DAY you can read the poem again here ❤️

HOLIDAYS!!!

Please remember that school closes at 1pm today.  Nursery hours remain unchanged, but if it would suit you to collect all your children at the same time, this can be accommodated.  Just speak to the nursery staff at drop-off.

We return for the new term on Wednesday 16th August, at the usual times:

  • Breakfast Club – 8.15am-8.45am (P.2-7 only on the first 2 days)
  • Nursery – 8.50am
  • P.2-7 – 9.00am
  • P.1 – 9.30am in the infant playground (staggered start for P.1 on the first 2 days only)

HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY AND THANK YOU, ONCE AGAIN, FOR YOUR SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!
