Mrs N’s Notes, 24.3.23

Week 3 menus for the week ahead.

Please remember, if your child pays for their lunch, this must be paid using the online payment system BEFORE their lunch is ordered.

OPEN AFTERNOON

Many thanks to everyone who joined us for our Health & Wellbeing session yesterday.  It was most encouraging to see so many families joining in the learning with us across the school.  It is always a pleasure to open our doors and give you a glimpse of your child’s school-day.

Photos will be added next week 😊

NURSERY PARENTAL CONSULTATION

We are looking forward to working with our nursery families this afternoon.  All parents and carers are welcome to join us to consider our next steps in Outdoor Learning.  Please enter through the main school entrance and meet us in the gym hall at 2pm.

TRANSITION EVENTS COMING UP

Next week Mrs McGarry will be visiting many of our partner nurseries to meet our future P.1 pupils while they play and learn.  She will get a chance to get to know them a little before they come for a visit to Kirkshaws.

Pupils from our own nursery class continue to visit the P.1 classroom regularly.  This week, some of them also visited us at assembly.  Superstars, every one of them!

Induction visits will take place in Term 4 for all in our new intake.  Please do not worry if you are a placing request to Kirkshaws or attend another nursery…we will not forget you!

P.7 pupils moving to Coatbridge High School will also have the chance to work with some of their new teachers on Tuesday of next week, when they take part in a PE event involving many of the local primary schools.  Sounds like fun!

In addition, we are also sending a team of Basketball players to Coatbridge High next Friday for a festival.  I am sure they will all be super ambassadors for Kirkshaws!

Parents are reminded that the Coatbridge High visit planned for yesterday has been postponed until next Thursday afternoon from 4pm-5pm.  Once again, please accept our apologies for the short notice of this change of date.

DANCE FESTIVAL

Next Wednesday Miss Curley will be accompanying a group of dancers to Bellshill to take part in a dance qualifier.  This group have devised their own routine and have been practising tirelessly in their own time.  Huge thanks too to Miss Curley and Mr Gall who have been supporting them in this learning experience.  Good luck to you all!

HOLIDAY REMINDER

Remember, school stops for the Easter holidays on Friday 31st March at 2.30pm.  Staff will accommodate any nursery pupils who need to leave a little earlier that day.

Have a lovely weekend and we’ll look forward to welcoming you all back at the usual times on Monday morning!
