Mrs N’s Notes, 14.10.22

We are now on holiday for a week, but when we return we will have our Week 1 Menu in both the school & nursery.

Please note that there are a few changes to the above menu when we come back.  The pasta dishes on Monday and Thursday have been replaced by baked potatoes and the wraps have been replaced with sandwiches.  This will be a permanent change across NLC, but at time of sharing, this has not yet been updated on the council website.

HARVEST

I cannot thank you enough for the huge number of donations you made to our Harvest Festival this week.  I filled my boot to the max this morning and made our first delivery to the Coatbridge Community Foodbank.  As you will expect, they are run off their feet and asked me to pass on their sincere thanks for your kindness.

But that’s not all!  We have the same amount of food again, still to be delivered to our neighbours in St James’ Way.

Team Kirkshaws!  Always ready to help others!

PHOTOGRAPHER

You should have received a letter home at the beginning of this week with details about our Photographer’s visit on 25th & 26th October.  All individual photos in the school & nursery will be taken on 25th, with family portraits on 26th.  If you haven’t done so already, please return a slip with pupil names, if you require a sibling group photo.    Anyone wanting a family group should therefore come to school wearing school uniform on TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.

CLUBS

We are delighted that we are now in a position to start offering after-school clubs once again.  We are in talks with a drama teacher, Active Schools and PASP to create a plan for Term 2.  More information to come about clubs for our young learners and also some opportunities for more family learning.

HALLOWE’EN DISCO

Please remember our Parent Council Hallowe’en Disco takes place on Thursday 27th October in the evening.  Tickets will be on sale in each class and in the nursery from Monday 24th October.

FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

We have two football teams heading to St Ambrose for a local football festival on 27th October.  We wish all our boys and girls our best, as they head off to be ambassadors for Kirkshaws!  You can do it!

CHILDSMILE

Looking ahead, Childsmile will be visiting all pupils from our nursery through to Primary 4 on Tuesday 1st November.

HOLIDAY

I hope you have a lovely week off and we’ll see you back for Breakfast Club, nursery and school at all the usual times on Monday 24th October!
