HALLOWE’EN DISCO!
We are all looking forward to our first school disco in three years! Tickets go on sale after the October Week holiday. All details on the poster. Many thanks to our Parent Council for organising this.
CHS P.7 PARENTS’ EVENING
If your child is moving to Coatbridge High School in August 2023, remember that there is a Parents’ Evening planned for next Tuesday, 11th October at 7.00pm. Pupils and parents are invited to visit the school together to have all your questions answered. More details were included in the Transition Newsletter sent home a few weeks ago and we have sent out 2 emails to those involved this week too. If you are not receiving our emails, please contact the school office.
CLUSTER MATHS QUIZ
Last Friday a small group of pupils visited Coatbridge High for one of our planned Transition Events. Our Maths Team were a credit to Kirkshaws! They were in first-equal place as they went into the final round and came a very respectable second place overall. Well done! We are all so proud of you.
HARVEST FESTIVAL
Next week we will collect your donations of dried or tinned food that we will pass on to those in need before the holiday. As always, we intend to provide food parcels for both St James’ Way and the Coatbridge Food Bank. As always, there is no obligation to give to this. We do not want to put any families under additional financial hardship.
EXPRESSIVE ARTS
We look forward to welcoming another Drama teacher into school next Tuesday. This time she will work with pupils from Rooms 9, 10, 14 & 15.
Kodaly Music continues in Primary 5 every 2 weeks. Miss McGregor is delighted at the enthusiasm and effort shown by this group of young people.
Reel Time Music continue to work with our P.7 pupils weekly. They are composing their own songs. I can’t wait to hear the final results!
HOLIDAY REMINDER
Please remember school and nursery are both closed for the October Week Holiday; Monday 17th to Friday 21st October. We reopen at the usual times on Monday 24th October.
