Week 1 Menus for our school and nursery coming up…
PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL ACTION NEXT WEEK
At the moment, your child’s teacher is devising a home learning pack that can be used at home during this time. This will be a mixture of paper-based work and possible online activities that will come home to you on Monday next week.
We know, from our recent parental survey, that most families do not enjoy working online, but we will continue to offer this as an option, as well as more traditional homework tasks.
Teachers are not on strike next week. They will continue to work in school, so please remember they will be on hand to help. However, as the school office will not be manned, email communication may be more effective than telephone calls. Each teacher will provide their class with access to their class TEAM online, as well as their work email address. THE EXCEPTION TO THIS IS PRIMARY 1, WHO ARE NOT YET FAMILIAR WITH USING TEAMS. Primary 1 work will therefore be paper-based.
Teachers may phone some families throughout the week to check everything is alright – THIS IS IN NO WAY INTENDED TO BE CHASING UP WORK, it is purely a wellbeing check to offer help if needed.
On Monday, your child will bring home a note of their homework for the week, with a homework jotter. Any work carried out can be written in the jotter OR posted on the Class Team.
If P.2-P.7 pupils are able to access their Class Team, we would encourage them to check-in with their teacher and classmates each day, just to keep connected during this unsettling time.
We know that every family will be operating under very different circumstances next week. Some children will manage only a little of the work provided while some children will complete it all and go on to devise their own personal projects. You must do what is right for your child, but it is important you know that teachers are here to support if they can.
PANTOMIME
Please remember we need to pay Motherwell Concert Hall the full price of the panto tickets by 16th September. Please contact the school office if this is proving to be difficult.
