Mrs N’s Notes, 25.3.22
Week 3 Menus ahead!
PLEASE NOTE THAT NEXT FRIDAY (1ST APRIL) THERE WILL BE NO HOT FOOD AT LUNCHTIME. PACKED LUNCHES OR PACK-A-SNACKS ONLY. *This is NOT an April Fool! 😊*
EASTER HOLIDAY
School will close next Friday, 1st April, for our Easter holiday. We will close half an hour earlier than usual. This means a 2.20pm finish for Rooms 1, 9,14 & 15 and a 2.30pm close for Rooms 2, 3, 5, 16 & 10.
Our Nursery Class will remain open until the normal finish time of 2.50pm, but if any families want to collect nursery pupils early we will work with you to facilitate this. Please just speak to our nursery staff to confirm this.
We are off school for just over 2 weeks; returning at the usual times on the morning of TUESDAY 19TH APRIL.
UNIFORM
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us in ensuring our pupils are turned out smartly every day in uniform. We look great!
Please remember that our uniform on PE days consists of legging/jogging trousers/shorts with a school polo shirt or plain T-shirt and a school sweatshirt/jumper. We do not want anyone to be spending excessive amounts on PE kits and branded clothing. Also remember that NLC does not allow football strips to be worn in school. Thank you.
HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITION PROGRAMME
Our P.7 pupils have enjoyed 4 visits from CHS Sports Leaders over the past month. We are delighted that this series of lessons will draw to a close with a visit to the high school next Friday morning. All permission slips should be returned early next week if you have not already done so.
SPORTING EVENTS
Next week we are excited to be sending a team of pupils to the local Cross Country Trials. Good luck to the speedy-six who came out top in our school trials.
Also next week, Mr Gall is holding Football Trials. After 2 years we are finally in a position to start putting together a school team again. We have been invited to a local Football Festival in Bargeddie in April, so we need to get organised! I am sure everyone will give 100% effort and show the great sportsmanship we expect at Kirkshaws.
NURSERY FUND
Please remember our Nursery Fund and contribute weekly if you are able. As always, all money collected is used to directly enhance our learning experiences. Thank you in advance.
PARENT COUNCIL
As intimated last week, our Parent Council will meet on Monday 28th March at 7pm using an online platform. If you have a pupil in Kirkshaws Primary or Nursery Class you are a member of our Parent Forum and are welcome to join us. Please telephone the school office if you wish to attend.
Have a lovely weekend – here’s hoping this fabulous weather continues!
