Mrs N’s Notes, 17.9.21

Week 3 menu next week in both the school and nursery.  If your child pays for a school meal, please remember to top up their card using the online system.

LET ME INTRODUCE YOU…

Meet Brody Canning, born last week weighing 8lb 10oz.  Both Mrs Canning and Brody are doing well and looking forward to a time they can meet you all again in person!  Mrs Canning thanks you all for your good wishes over this time.

Mrs Canning is understandably taking some precious time off over the coming months.  We are delighted to have it confirmed that Miss Reid will be taking over her duties in school at this time.  Room 14 will therefore have Miss Reid as their teacher Mon-Wed, with Miss Curley continuing in their class on a Thu & Fri.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES

Our Primary 7 pupils have had a busy (and very tiring) week working with Active Schools at Strathclyde Park.  These 5 days, filled with sports and team building activities, have allowed them the chance to learn new skills in the outdoors.  This slide show of photographs shows just a flavour of what they’ve been up to.  Next week I’ll bring you their thoughts on the experience…

Meanwhile, in our nursery we have also started getting out and about again!  Mrs New has started community walks this week looking for signs of Autumn.

FLU VACCINATIONS

We are expecting the Flu Vaccination Team to visit early in November.  Please return your consent forms as soon as possible to help with the planning process here.

FUTURE FRIDAYS

We are delighted to welcome Jennifer, Bailey & Georgi from Coatbridge High to complete work experience with us each Friday afternoon.  All of these young people are ex-pupils of Kirkshaws and we are so proud to see how well they are using this time to enhance their future career opportunities.  It is a pleasure to work with you once again, ladies!

HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Don’t forget, we have two 4-day weeks coming up.  School and Nursery are both closed on Friday 23.9.21 and Monday 26.9.21 for September weekend.  We all close at the normal times on Thursday.
