TRANSITION TO HIGH SCHOOL
Remember to visit the Transition Page on our website regularly for updated information linked to P.7 pupils transferring to our cluster secondary school, Coatbridge High School:
Here you will find links to CHS website, the March Newsletter for parents and the Virtual Classroom where you can view the messages and lessons your child has been viewing in class since November. The Virtual Lessons will continue throughout the month of May, especially during a special focus week, beginning 24th May. By the end of that week our pupils will have ‘visited’ every department in the school!
This week we also welcomed coaches from the School of Rugby who worked with all our P.7 pupils on the pitch; by all accounts it was a great success!
In addition to the virtual lessons, please be assured that there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes too. Our P.7 teachers continue to pass on assessment and wellbeing information as necessary to ensure the move is a smooth as possible.
An updated Parent Newsletter is due out soon with additional transition information as it becomes available.
If your child is moving on to a different high school, we will share any information with you directly as we receive it.
TRANSITION TO PRIMARY SCHOOL
More information coming next week!
ONGOING RISK ASSESSMENTS
I am aware that there are a lot of changes expected at a national level next week. However, nothing has changed in school yet. We continue to work within the same risk assessments we have had in place since August. Thank you for your support in this.
Please remember this includes pupils limiting what they bring from home. Pupils SHOULD NOT be bringing toys into school.
ACTIVE JOURNEYS TO SCHOOL
We are delighted by the number of children who have continued to walk, cycle or scoot to school and nursery over recent weeks. Thank you for your support in this. Less traffic at our school and nursery gates reduces air pollution and traffic congestion. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us to allow more families to continue these active journeys daily.
SCOTTISH WEATHER
Outdoor learning and outdoor PE continue this term. Please be ready for any unexpected changes in our wonderful Scottish weather! Sun cream and waterproof jackets may both be needed some days. Thank you for your daily support in this to ensure your child is prepared for whatever the day brings.
REPORTING TO YOU
School and Nursery Reports are being written just now. These will be heading home to you early in June.
DAIRY DATES
Remember school and nursery are both closed on Friday 28th May and Monday 31st May for the local holiday.
