Mrs N’s Notes ~ 7th Dec
Looking back over the past 5 days and we can see the excitement of Christmas beginning to creep in to our daily routines! Despite this though, in so many ways it is business as usual…whatever that means (there is no such thing as a typical day in our school). Quality teaching, support for learning, staff training and partnership working with other schools all continued throughout the week. However, somehow we managed to fit in lots of extra bits and pieces!
Rehearsals for our Christmas Shows have started in earnest. The commitment of the staff and pupils to make this the best show yet has reminded me why I love working in Kirkshaws. No one turns up at our school expecting to be mediocre – we live by our motto – BELIEVE, ACHIEVE, SUCCEED! At the moment we are still in the BELIEVE phase…but I have no doubt that our learners will achieve their personal goals when it comes to our Christmas performances. I will leave it up to you, our audience, to let us know if we succeed.
Our Bring & Buy Sale and Carol singing outing, both organised by Mr Sharp, gave us the opportunity to practise skills for learning. life & work, whilst raising funds for our school. We benefit so much from the efforts of our parent Fundraisers, but we want to contribute to this too. Please remember that this money, along with the ticket money for our shows, goes straight back to providing those little extras for your children.
A trip to the panto finished off the week perfectly. Huge thanks must go to all those parents who accompanied us to the theatre. Without your help we couldn’t undertake such a huge endeavour. ..Oh no we couldn’t!
Now….what is next?
