Spelling
Red – phoneme family: s, ss, c, se, ce
suggest, satisfaction, fossil, actress, saucer, city, sense, eclipse, service, sentence.
- Write your phoneme words in a phoneme chart.
Blue – phoneme family: ee, ea, e, ie, e-e
between, week, peace, team, she, be, mischief, niece, complete, eve.
- Write three sentences containing your spelling words.
Green – phoneme revision: tch, wr, ea, wa, th.
watch, wrinkle, bread, swan, then.
Common words revision: another, watch, time, windy, gave, family, how, might, learn, children, because, earth, second, fifteen, five, fourteen, spring, sunny, those, home.
- Practise writing your common words by writing some fun spelling (rainbow, pyramid, etc).
- Write 3 sentences containing words from your phoneme sound.
Reading
Rubies- Read chapter 11 of the Demon Headmaster.
Sapphires- Read chapter 11 of the Butterfly Lion.
Emeralds- Read chapters 3 and 4 of the Boy Racer aloud with an adult.
Numeracy
We are focusing on time right now in class. When completing tasks can you get your child to estimate the length of time the task took to complete and then calculate the actual time together. Discuss if their estimate was accurate or not.
