Homework Week Beginning 16th March 2026 

Homework will be collected in on Friday.

PE will be on Thursday and Friday this week. Please bring your PE kit ready for PE on those days.

Spelling 

Red – phoneme family: aw, au, a, o

awful, crawl, because, daughter, almost, called, oxygen, opposite.

  • Create a phoneme chart with words containing your phoneme sound.

Blue – phoneme family: ie, igh, i-e, y

tie, lie, right, bright, tonight, slice, decide, smile, why, reply

  • Write three sentences containing your spelling words.

Green – consolidation week (revision)

phoneme sounds:

ie (tried, cried, replied, etc), ve (have, give, forgive, etc), g (gentle, giant, generous, etc)

Common words:

tell, large, spell, still, saw, own, small, something, live, give, about, around, house, hour, side

  • Practise writing your common words by writing some fun spelling (rainbow, pyramid, etc). 
  • Write 3 sentences containing words from your phoneme sound. 
  • Play spelling games at home to practise common words and phoneme sounds.

Reading 

Choose a book from home or the school library to read aloud to an adult at home.

Numeracy 

We are focusing on 2D and 3D shapes right now in class. When completing daily tasks, could you think about which shapes every day objects and buildings are made of.
