We we have been learning about the life of Vincent Van Gogh. We really enjoyed creating our own version of the famous Sunflowers picture using oil pastels. Some of the children used oil pastels for the first time and they did very well.

This week P1 were exploring different ways to add to 4 and 5.
Primaries 4/5 and 5/6 enjoyed a joint PE session today as they were introduced to the concept of Target Games. After discussing this with the pupils and having a warm up, Mrs Fisher and I decided to introduce a baton relay. This was to reinforce the importance of concentration and hand and eye co-ordination. All pupils really enjoyed this and we found that their existing skills were very good and so future lessons will concentrate on developing and refining their knowledge and skills even further. An exciting block of Target Games ahead for us all!
The pupils in primary six have been working very hard for the past few weeks learning all about Robert Burns and the traditions of a Burns’ Supper. All that hard work was displayed on Thursday night when they held their very own Burns’ Supper for their families, teachers and invited guests. The pupils delivered a professional event with confidence, humour and excellent behaviour. They all worked very hard preparing for this in school and also at home with the help of their family members.
A great time was had by all!
P1 did some internet research to find out where food comes from. They now know that all food comes from plants or animals.
They were successful in discussing where different foods come from.
Next week they will be exploring how food changes from farm to fork. They will look at the stages wheat goes through to become bread.
Another successful week! All of the children beat their previous score or got full marks in a shorter space of time.
This week P1 were learning to be creative whilst performing balances. They had to perform a balance on a different body part in each hoop.
Blue hoop – one leg balance
Yellow hoop – balance on knees
Red hoop – balance on hands and feet
I liked that you were creative and managed to hold each balance.
We created amazing firework pictures using coloured card and pastels to create the awesome fireworks. Good job P2/3!
