Our P7 pupils are half way through their two-day visit to Chryston High School. We hope they are loving every minute of their time there. Details of the uniform event tomorrow are detailed in the letter below –

Our School Chaplain, Mark McKeown, will deliver a series of 3 workshops to support our P7 pupils as they prepare for their move to secondary school. They are based on Scripture Union materials and further details can be found in the letter below –
Letter to P7 Parents re SU Is Your Move Workshops 1 June 2015
P7 visit Dumfries House on 1 June and P6/7 the following week on 8 June.
Parents, could you ensure that all pupils meet in the school hall at 8.45am on the morning of their excursion please? This helps us to get the pupils on the road and to the venue as quickly as possible.
Pupils will be participating in outdoor learning including gardening, cooking and play so could you also ensure that pupils please wear appropriate outdoor clothing on this day?

Our P7 leavers’ beach party will take place in the main hall of Knights of St Columba and will run from 7-9pm. One of our parents, Mr McClean will be DJ and Alex Graham Caterers will be provide burgers and chips. The school will provide drinks.
The theme is a beach party and the dress code is relaxed.
Parents please drop off and collect your child on the night.
Our P7 pupils have been working extremely hard to prepare for their graduation. I have been lucky to have seen a few snippets of the rehearsals and was very impressed!
We would like to invite our P7 Parents and Carers to join us for this very special event. The graduation will begin at 1.30pm and will last until approximately 2.30pm when light refreshments and snacks will be served in our community garden, weather permitting.
Primary 7 had a go at cooking vegetable parcels last week – here are some photos of us in action. We found using the filo pastry tricky to begin with but soon mastered it…who knows, perhaps the next Masterchef is in our midst!
We entered a National Robert Burns Federation Art Competiton in January where the pupils were required to create a drawing inspired by a Burns poem. In response to this challenge, Callum drew ‘Twa dugs’, Connor’s drawing was inspired by ‘To A Louse’ and Hazel drew a beautiful rose inspired by the poem ‘My Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose’ ‘The judge was so impressed with the level of competence that they were placed as follows – Callum (1st), Connor (2nd) and Hazel (3rd). Callum will be presented with the Toshio Namba trophy, all pupils will be given a certificate and the school will be presented with a £100 cheque for School Funds.
A Burns Federation representative will visit Glenmanor to make the presentations. Well done! What an outstanding achievement! Thanks to Ms Brunton who teaches the pupils and prepared them for the competition.
This event will be led by P7 pupils in the school hall from 6-7pm on 16 June. It will follow a Q/A format.

Kilbowie Outdoor Centre have advised schools that they will be issuing a new scale of charges and a general circular in the next few days. I will keep you posted.
