BEAR Gritter Visit and Competition
Today, Primary 1a, 1b, 2, 2/3 and 3 had an exciting visit from the road gritters and had fun learning about what they do and had a chance to sit in the Gritter!
The boys and girls have the opportunity to take part in a colouring competition to name one of the gritters. Good luck!
P1b take part in ‘Ready Steady Cook’
Today P1b participated in the ‘Ready, Steady, Cook!’ challenge by making some delicious leek and potato soup. We thoroughly enjoyed chopping the leeks and parsley and particularly loved tasting the soup once it was ready! The recipe (pictured below) was so easy to follow. We hope Mrs Martin enjoyed the soup. Thank you to Mrs Kelly for all your help.
P1b Pupil of the Week
Well done to this great boy for winning Glen over the September Weekend. You always set a good example of excellent behaviour and try extremely hard with your work in class. We loved hearing all about your weekend with Glen. He loved his visit to the Zoo and winning those cool sunglasses at the party. Thanks for all your hard work in his journal and sharing your photographs. Well done!
P1 Maths Homework Week Beginning Tuesday 29th September
In class P1 will be learning about pattern. They will be predicting what comes next in a pattern, continuing a pattern and creating their own patterns through various practical activities.

P1b use the Beebots
Today p1b made a map of the school and navigated our little Beebot to different places. We used our knowledge of counting to 10 and positional language to help us control the Beebot. We really enjoyed this activity and can’t wait to do it again! 
P1b Pupil of the Week
Well done to this kind and helpful girl for winning Glen last week. She always works extremely hard and is a good friend to the children in p1b. Glen really enjoyed his weekend and loved his trip to Adventure Planet! Thanks for taking such good care of him and for putting in such a lot of effort into his journal. P1b love seeing photographs of what he has been up to at the weekend. Well done!
P1 Homework Week Beginning 21st September 2015
Ask your child to arrange their teddy bears/ cars etc into a line and ask them questions about their position. E.g. which teddy bear is 5th in the line? Or instruct your child to arrange them in a certain way E.g. Put the red car in first position, the blue car in second and yellow car in third etc.
Active Literacy in p1b
This morning P1b worked hard to say, make, break, blend, read and write the words ‘mat’, ‘rat’ and ‘pat’. I am very pleased at how hard everyone worked. Here are photographs of our hard work in Literacy today.

Well done to this superstar for being the first pupil to win Glen! This boy always works very hard and is great at following the school’s Golden Rules.
