P1a enjoyed carrying out some gardening maintenance last week. Mrs Green helped groups of children to weed in the sensory garden whilst other children read books about plants and gardening and swept the garden.

Striking and Fielding with P1
P1a enjoyed learning about striking and fielding in the sunshine this afternoon. Some children learned how to play rounders, whilst some learned to strike and some learned to field.

P1a invented their own toy or game as part of our toys topic. You are certainly very creative and your designs are so varied. Thank you for all of your hard work!
Money Money Money
Today p1a were learning about money. They were able to recognise coins up to £2 and sort coins according to their value. Tomorrow we will be learning to order coins from least to most valuable.
Nursery to Primary 1 Transition Reminder
Please note our first transition event for our new Primary 1’s is Wednesday 27 April 9.30-10.30. We look forward to welcoming all of our new boys and girls.
P1a have had a busy week!
P1 have enjoyed exploring the Little Red Riding Hood story as part of a mini traditional tales topic. They were able to describe the Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood. During purposeful play the children made a new basket for Little Red Riding Hood and made some great wanted posters.
The children have also been working very hard in literacy and all other curricular areas!
Fairtrade Breakfast P1a
Today we made porridge. We added Fairtrade honey, blueberries and bananas. Some of us tried it and it was yummy!
P1a Maths Homework
Drag the digital time to the analogue clocks. This game is not tablet/iPad friendly. If you are looking for telling the time apps there is lots of free apps. ‘Telling Time Quiz’ is a good app but it costs 79p.
Easter Bonnet Parade – 21/3/16
Nursery and P1 Easter bonnet parade and daffodil tea will take place on Monday 21 March at 9.30am and 1.30pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served. £3 payable at the door.
GOING BANANAS FOR FAIRTRADE!
Miss Riach helped some groups of children to chop fair-trade bananas and use them to make banana on toast! I think they enjoyed it!
