We went out to the gardens to clear up some of the fallen leaves but before doing so, we made some fabulous creations!
Inspired by artist Andy Goldsworthy, our Garden Committee created this beautiful picture using materials found in our gardens. This work of art was created using leaves, crab apples, small branches, pebbles and netting.
Primary 4 were hard at work this afternoon in the school gardens preparing them for the winter months. In their garden groups, the boys and girls weeded the vegetable patches, tidied and weeded the herb beds, collected litter and put rotten fruit from under the fruit trees to good use in the compost bin. Great work everyone!
The boys and girls in the nursery have been having lots of fun exploring the new climbing frame with a slide and trying their best to throw the balls into the basketball nets.!!
The boys and girls in the nursery have been exploring the school garden and they have been learning where fruit and vegetables grow. They have also been learning about amounts by counting and looking at size. They can confidently sort and categorise the different types of fruits and vegetables. How clever are they !!
Primary 4 enjoyed experimenting with different quantities of the beetroot, carrots, kale, runner beans and radish seeds that we harvested from the garden yesterday and added water to make healthy energy smoothies in class. We had fun tasting the different flavours! Next time we think we’ll add honey to make them more palatable! 😀
The boys and girls went into the community garden today to see what has been growing in the vegetable patches. They were amazed by how many different things had grown over the summer! We tasted some fresh peas, apples and runner beans and plan to make a Nutriblast Smoothie tomorrow with vegetables from the garden. Stay tuned to see if our recipe is successful!
P7 were creating mini gardens and working with Hidden Gardens to maintain our herb garden. Great effort and well done.
