The boys and girls in the nursery are really enjoying learning lots of nursery rhymes. They have been busy exploring rhythm and listening to words that sound the same. Here they are acting out the rhyme ‘Miss Polly had a Dolly’. It was great fun!

Rhymes in the Nursery
We are learning all about nursery rhymes. This week we have enjoyed learning about Hickory Dickory Dock and Humpty Dumpty. We acted out our rhymes using puppets and props.
Snack Time in the Nursery
The boys and girls have been enjoying some delicious healthy snacks in the nursery this week. They prepared the potatoes and vegetables from the nursery garden for soup. It was very tasty!
Harvest Time in the Nursery!
The boys and girls in the nursery were very busy in the garden today. They harvested the potatoes and onions that they had planted in May. They worked really hard to dig them all out of the ground. We are all looking forward to making and enjoying some delicious soup and some mashed potatoes next week.
Glenmanor Achieve Success at Chryston Horticultural Show!
Glenmanor pupils did exceptionally well at Chryston Horticultural Society Annual Show today. Well done everyone! Read on to find out who won what!
Moodiesburn and Chryston District Pipe Band played outside Chryston High School Cultural Centre and Tom Clarke officially opened the show.
Inter Schools Challenge (age 10 and over) – We won the inter schools challenge with some very stiff competiton from Chryston High School! Their garden produce was outstanding! They grew these fantastic vegetables in their poly tunnel and we hope thar our garden academy can do the same this year!
Here are our inter school entries below. The red rosettes are first and the blue are second. 6 points for 1st and 3 points for 2nd. Our total score was 18! Here are two of our pupils collecting the trophy on behalf of Glenmanor.
Decorated Cupcakes (age 10 and over) – Abby was 1st, Susannah was 2nd and Sophie was 3rd.
Greetings Cards (age 10 and over) – Jenna was 1st, Monique was 2nd and Leah was 3rd.
Garden in Miniature (age 10 and over) – Our P7 groups won 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Creation or Craft (age 10 and over) – Abby was 1st and Beth was 2nd.
Krispie Cakes (age 9 and under) – P1a were 1st, P1b were 2nd and Campbell was 3rd.
Creation or Craft (age 9 and under) – Niamh was 1st and Macie was 2nd.
Greetings Cards (age 9 and under) – Oliver was 1st, Amy was 2nd and Kayley was 3rd.
Vase of Garden Flowers (age 9 and under) – Mrs Charles and her pupils won 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Our Entries for Chryston Horticultural Show
Good luck to all pupils whose work has been entered in the garden show. Some of the entries are featured below.
Our garden club have entered the inter schools challenge where they had to create a garden produce display (3 shown), create a Mr Potato Head (2 shown), display 3 potatoes (not shown) and show their heaviest potato (not shown).
Pla and P1b created lovely krispie cakes and the three best from each class have been entered.
Our focus on food academy baked and decorated cupckaes and the best three are shown below.
Several classes created greetings cards and their own creations for the show.
Mrs Charles worked with pupils to arrange vases of garden flowers.
Nursery Class Graduation
The boys and girls of Glenmanor Nursery Class enjoyed a very special day yesterday (Thursday 18 June). The preschool children had their graduation in preparation for their move to primary school.
It was an emotional experience for all the mums, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles but also an emotional experience for all their teachers!
We wish them all good luck as they move to primary school. We will miss you all!
Nursery To Primary 1 (PM Session)
Our new Primary Ones’s had a great time at our transition event. They certainly know all their numbers. We can’t wait for you to join us in August.
Nursery To Primary Transition Event
Our new Primary One children had great fun during our active Maths transition session. I’m not sure if the new P1’s or their buddies enjoyed it more. We can’t wait until August.
Nursery Trip to Wellsfield Farm Park
After a very wet start to the day the nursery enjoyed a fantastic trip to Wellsfield Farm Park. The children enjoyed exploring the park and a great time was had by all!
