Swimming at the Tryst

P5 have had fun swimming and doing PE at the Tryst.

JA- I really liked when we got to swim on our backs and kick our legs.

Erin L and Macie- We really enjoyed the gym because we were learning handball skills and at the end we will get to play a game of handball.

Erin M and Chloe- It was really fun when we were swimming on our back. We are learning to do back stroke and front crawl.

P5 want to say thank you and that they really appreciate the opportunity to go swimming! We are so lucky!

BEAR Scotland Gritter Winner

Well done to this pupil for winning the BEAR Scotland competition! She had to name the gritter and came up with the name ‘Mrs McGritter’.

The name will be displayed on one of the new spreaders that will be treating the M80 this winter.

This pupil will receive a special prize very soon  and it may be delivered by the new spreader! How exciting!

P2/3 Internet Safety

P2/3 have been  learning about Internet Safety through a variety of media and activities. Firstly they used the smart board to  listen to a story, which was then followed by a class discussion.  Then they reinforced their learning with art, drama, music and writing activities using the class iPads. They have learned lots of top tips to stay safe while surfing the net.

P2 Ready Steady Cook!

The boys and girls in Primary 2 had a fabulous time in the learning kitchen creating their Ready Steady Cook competition entry.

Have a look at the children hard at work!

“Potato, Onion and Tomato Filo Parcels.”

Some children helped to prepare and cook the potatoes, onions, tomatoes and filo pastry while others created a fancy placemat to display the wonderful creation. Mrs Martin came along to judge our recipe and the boys and girls tasted it too!

Are you a litterbug?

P1a are learning all about litter and recycling! We are bringing about positive change  by doing some litter picking and by encouraging people to take care of their environment.  We are going to make persuasive posters to encourage all pupils to put litter in the bin.  We also learned a song about litter and we are looking forward to recording this song and uploading it to our blog!
