Have a look at how some of our fantastic Millennium Bug creations turned out!
This week, our writing lesson will be an imaginative story about the mysterious Millennium Bug.
Primary 2 have began their topic of learning about the years 2000-2015.
Today in class, they discovered about The Millennium Bug!
This was when people thought that all the computers in the world would stop working or CRASH when the year changed to 2000 and they nicknamed it, “The Millennium Bug.”
We in Primary 2 know that it wasn’t a real bug like a spider or a beetle, but we imagined what we thought a Millennium Bug would look like and planned a drawing of it on our whiteboards!
Some of our creations had lots of arms to crash all the computers in the year 2000!

Primary 5 have been busy this week making a creation for the Chryston Horticultural Show. We painted different flowers onto paper plates and used cupcake cases to add pot plants to our paintings. Some of us also decided to make different patterns around our flowers to frame them.
Congratualtions and good luck to Kayley, Abigail and Macie whose creations were chosen to be sent to the show to be part of the art competition.
Here is a picture of some of the paintings made by the other boys and girls in Primary 5.

The boys and girls recreated a painting of Venice at sunset by Claude Monet. Each pupil focused on one section of the picture and drew it using oil pastels. The class then brought all of their drawings together to create one large picture.
We are preparing for our Summer Service, which will be held on 24 June from 9.30 -10.30. All parents/carers are welcome to attend and tea and coffees will be available in the hall from 9am onwards.
The draft programme is detailed below –
Our Infant Choir will start off the service by singing ‘The Banana Song’, ‘Frozen In Summer’ and ‘Never Miss A Beat’.
Then we have a very special performance from a band called Midnight Sketch Band. They will perform covers of ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ and ‘Live Forever’. The band members are at Chryston High School and 3 out of 4 of them are former Glenmanor pupils!
Perfect Attendance Certificates will be awarded to 13 of our pupils.
We will then share the names of the P7 School Cups winners and the pupils can hold up their cups again in front of all the pupils. The winner of Robert Burns World Federation Primary School Art Competition will also show off their cup.
Our School Chaplain Mark McKeown will talk about New Beginnings.
Next our Parent Council Presentation will take place, where the pupils will be presented with school ties and autograph books and pens.
Our Senior Choir will sing ‘Higher Than Higher’ and ‘See You Again’
We will then say ‘Goodbye and Good Luck’ to Staff leaving Glenmanor.
The Summer Service will end with both Infant and Senior Choirs singing ‘Uptown Funk’ together.
