Subtraction with exchange – Squares and Triangles
P4/5 investigated x rays today and got very competitive guessing which bones were on the x Rays. We then created our own versions of hand x Rays using paint and cotton buds. Did you know are 27 bones in your hand?!
We had great fun this afternoon using our knowledge of bones to create some Hallowe’en pasta skeletons.
We created posters to promote a healthy diet and nutrition for a competition! Fingers crossed!
One of our Spelling Groups were looking at a spelling rule about prefixes today. They learned what a prefix was and when using the prefix ‘all’ you only use one ‘l’, for example always, almost and altogether.

We started our new topic, The Human Body, today. We introduced our topic through a scene from the film Harry Potter, in which Harry breaks his arm but has a spell cast upon him in which his bones disappear! We learned about the importance of the skeleton and can now identify some of the bones. Did you know we have 206 bones in our bodies?!
This week we will be looking at addition during our numeracy time. Get practising your mental addition by asking someone in your family to quiz you or have a go at some of the games on the link below.
