Please accept my huge thanks for your kindness, good wishes and overwhelming generosity on my last day at Glenmanor. It’s a great wee school and I have been very happy here. I wish you all a very lovely, restful Summer and look forward to hearing about how well you are all doing in the new term.

Just a reminder to everyone that the school will close for the Summer break tomorrow (29th June) at 1pm. Children should return to school at 9a.m. on Wednesday 17th August. We wish you all a happy and restful holiday and thank you for your continued help and support.
The children in Primary 5 have swapped roles with Miss Gillespie today and yesterday as she became a student and they became the teacher! All the children worked in groups to plan a 45 minute lesson. Each group worked well in their teams to think of a topic, write a lesson plan and organise all of their resources. We learnt about different art techniques, cars, South Africa, the Euros and different sports. Miss Gillespie was very impressed with all the aspiring teachers and enjoyed being a pupil for the morning!
Primary 2 have been learning about the different types of measure; Length, Weight and Volume. The boys and girls have practised measuring length and height in centimetres and metres, weight in grams and kilograms and volume in milliletres and litres. They loved using water and sand to help them measure!
A great time was had by all at the P7 Graduation Party last night.

The first ever series of The Voice Kids is coming to ITV in 2017 and we’re looking for the next generation of talented young singers.
The Voice Kids will feature the nation’s best young vocalists and offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for talented children aged 7 to 14, as three of the country’s top recording artists help develop their talent from beginning to end.
We’re currently getting in touch with schools to ask if they could circulate some information to parents on our behalf, either by parent mail or via bag drops before the summer break.

Applicants must be at least 7 years of age by the 1st December 2016 and no older than 14 years of age on the 30th April 2017 and have the legal right to live in the UK.

The new Primary 4’s enjoyed a team building activity this morning where they had to work together to build the tallest freestanding tower using tape, skewers and marshmallows.
All the boys and girls worked brilliantly together and some teams managed to make a tower over 30cm high! Well done P4, I am excited for our year ahead. Miss O’Neill
